Vikas Wood Works

Our workshop is at H-686 in the Sitapura Industrial Area. If you walk into Vikas Wood Works, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of fresh sawdust. It’s everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. We do a lot of wood cutting and shaping here. We have some older machines that make a lot of noise, but they still work better than the new ones we’ve tried. The space is a bit cramped because we keep a lot of timber on hand, but we know where everything is. Sitapura is a busy place, and there are always trucks moving through the lanes. Our building isn't anything special—just a standard industrial shed where we spend our ten-hour shifts. We don't have a big sales team. Most of our work comes from people who have been buying from us for a long time. They know we’re here and they know what we do. Sometimes we get custom orders that take a bit more thinking, but mostly it’s repetitive work that requires a steady hand. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused, especially in the afternoons. It's a simple business of turning planks into something useful. We don't have a mission statement or anything. We just try to make sure the cuts are straight and the joints are tight before things leave the shop. It’s what we’ve always done.
