If you find yourself on the Lakhavad Ring Road in Bhavnagar, you might spot our place at Plot 2394 A/5. Utthan Trust has been based in this spot for quite a long while now. Bhavnagar itself has a very specific kind of feel, maybe a bit slower than the huge metros but still plenty busy. Even though the Ring Road gets a lot of trucks and noisy traffic, our plot is set back just enough that things stay fairly quiet inside. The building we work in is simple, really nothing more than what is needed for our meetings and keeping files in order. Big words aren't really used here to talk about the work. We are just some regular people who look out for the local community and try to help when it's needed. There are no fancy brochures or those glossy posters you see in city offices. Most of the desks and chairs have been around since the start, and the walls would probably look better with a new coat of paint, but it suits us fine. A lot of our time is spent just sitting around the main table discussing which district needs what. Since the sea isn't too far away, a nice breeze sometimes comes through when it's humid outside. Everyone here just shows up, does what needs doing, and heads home. It is a straightforward way to live.
