Shree Vishwakarma Furniture

You can find Shree Vishwakarma Furniture at 266/2 Div. -2 in the Chitra GIDC. Our workshop is always filled with the sound of woodworking machines and the smell of fresh timber. Being in an industrial area like Chitra means there’s always something going on nearby. Most of the time, the floor is covered in a layer of wood shavings and sawdust, even though we try to sweep up when we finish. Various pieces of furniture in different stages of being built are scattered around the room. On a big board behind the main workbench, all our tools are kept in their places. It’s a very hands-on environment where we’re usually covered in a bit of dust ourselves. Instead of a fancy office, we just use a small table in the corner for our notebook and the phone. If people want furniture made, they usually just walk into the shop and talk to us while we’re working. We don't have a catalog, so we just show them what’s currently on the floor. The building itself is simple, with high ceilings and a big sliding door that we keep open for light and air. Hard work like this can be tiring, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece of furniture. We just keep at it, day after day, here in the Chitra GIDC. The work is steady and we prefer it that way.
