Shree Chamunda Electro Pleting Works

Over at Plot No 14/34 in Chitra GIDC, you will find Shree Chamunda Electro Pleting Works. It is a typical industrial shed. The air inside always has a bit of a sharp smell because of the chemicals we use in the plating tanks. We have several big vats where the metal parts get dipped. It’s a process that takes time and a lot of attention. My clothes usually have a few spots on them by the end of the shift. We handle all sorts of small parts, mostly for other factories nearby. The floor is often wet from the rinsing stages. We have a few workers who have been with us since we opened. They know exactly how long to leave a piece in the bath just by looking at it. The noise of the blowers and the exhaust fans is constant. It’s not a quiet place to work. In the winter, the metal feels freezing, and in the summer, the heat from the tanks is quite something. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. Most people find us because they saw our sign or heard about us from a neighbor in the GIDC. We keep a ledger on the main desk to track everything coming in. Sometimes the deliveries are late, which messes up the schedule, but we deal with it. It’s just how business goes in a place like this. Most of our day is spent making sure the finish is right before things get packed.
