S. S. Doshi Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No 7 in the Chitra Gidc area. It’s one of those spots where you can hear the sound of metal hitting metal from every direction. We’ve been part of this industrial estate for quite a long time now. The workspace is basically one large hall where we keep all our lathes and milling machines. It’s not air-conditioned, so it gets pretty warm during the summer months, but we have a few big fans that help move the air around. My name is on the paperwork, but I spend most of my time out on the floor with the guys rather than sitting in the office. We do a lot of custom engineering work, which means every day is a bit different depending on what someone needs repaired or built. We don't have a glossy brochure or a marketing team to tell our story. We just rely on the fact that we've been here at Plot 7 for years and people know where to find us. The tea stall down the street is where we usually take our breaks and catch up with the other shop owners. It’s a tight-knit community here in Chitra Gidc. We’ve had our ups and downs like any business, but we keep the machines oiled and the doors open. If you need something machined, you just come by and we’ll take a look at it. There is always someone here during the day.
