About Raja Slates Private Limited – Education in Bhavnagar
Our building is down on Old Bunder Road, which has its own history. Working with slates is old-fashioned work, but we still see a need for it. The dust is just part of the daily life here, and you get used to it after a week or so. It’s a simple operation. We take the raw material and cut it down, making sure the edges aren't too sharp. It’s heavy work, and our hands definitely show it at the end of the shift. We aren’t located in a modern business park; it’s an older part of town where the roads are a bit narrow and the trucks have to be careful coming in. Raja Slates has been around for a bit, and we don't feel the need to change much about how we operate. The machines we use are loud and they’ve been maintained by the same guys for a long time. It’s honest labor. We mostly just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for whoever needs them. You won't find any glossy brochures in our front office, just a desk and some samples. We like it that way. It’s a bit gritty down here by the old port area, but it suits the kind of work we do. Every day is about the stone and the tools. Some days we have more help than others, but the slates always get finished one way or another.
