Patel Strap Industries

Out in the Chitra GIDC area at Plot No. 249 you will find our unit. We make straps here. It is a very basic product but almost every business needs it for packing their goods up. The machines hum all day long as they turn out rolls of plastic and metal strapping. The air inside the unit is always a little warm because of the heaters we have to use in the production process. We usually have stacks of finished rolls waiting near the door for the delivery trucks to come and pick them up. It is an industrial estate so there is not much to look at besides other factories and a lot of dust on the roads. We focus on keeping the machines running so they don't break down too often. When a part snaps everything has to stop and we get in there with our tools to fix it. It is greasy work and our clothes usually show it. We don't have a marketing team or anything fancy. We just talk to our regular customers and see what they need for their shipping rooms. The office is just a small corner with a desk and some old filing cabinets. We have been operating out of this same plot for many years now. It is mostly a family-run operation. We show up early in the morning and get the machines started. It is not a glamorous business but it keeps us busy.
