Out here at 160 Chitra GIDC, things are pretty quiet compared to the main city center. This part of the industrial estate is mostly about logistics and getting things sold. At Makwana Sales Corporation, we spend our mornings checking what came in and what needs to go out to the customers. The building itself is a solid, no-nonsense structure. It gets quite dusty because of all the construction and movement nearby, so we’re always wiping down the desks. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to drivers who are picking up orders. The GIDC is a big place, and it takes a while to learn where all the different plot numbers are. We’ve been at this address long enough that the postman doesn't have to look at the map anymore. It’s a lot of manual work sometimes, moving boxes and checking lists. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone counting stock or writing in a ledger. There isn't much shade around here, so the sun really beats down on the roof in the middle of the day. We have a small corner for making tea, which is where most of the important conversations happen. It’s a simple operation, really. We just focus on the sales and making sure the inventory is right. It’s a decent place to work if you don't mind a bit of hard work and some dust on your shoes.
