Krishna Eng. Works

Our place, Krishna Eng. Works, is located right next to the A-one Bakery in Chitra GIDC. The smell of fresh bread from the bakery is actually one of the best parts of working here at Plot 356/1. We do general engineering work, mostly repairs and making small parts for other businesses in the estate. It’s a small workshop with a couple of lathes and a welding set. I took over the place a few years back and haven't changed much. It’s a bit cluttered with scrap metal and old projects, but I know where everything is. The floor is concrete and always has a bit of oil on it, no matter how much we sweep. Customers usually drop off something broken and ask if we can fix it by the end of the week. Most of the time we can. We don't really do any advertising; people just see our sign or hear about us from the guys at the bakery. It’s a simple life. We work when there’s work to do and enjoy the quiet moments when there isn’t. Sometimes the power goes out in the GIDC, and we just sit outside and chat until it comes back on. We aren't trying to become a giant company. We just want to do decent work and stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the families fed. It's nothing fancy, but it's what we do.
