Our office for Alang Shipping Pvt. Ltd. is at 45, Madhav Darshan Complex in the Kalanala area of Bhavnagar. It is a pretty standard office building, and we have been here for quite some time now. Being in Bhavnagar, we are close to the shipping action, but our daily lives are mostly spent at desks and on the telephone. The Madhav Darshan Complex is usually buzzing with people from all sorts of businesses. We have a lot of files and maps around the place. Logistics is a lot of talking and waiting for news from the coast. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and it can get a bit chaotic inside. We drink a lot of coffee and tea to stay sharp. The heat in Kalanala can be quite something during the middle of the year, so we are glad for our office walls. It’s not a very big space, but it’s enough for what we need to do. We don't have any fancy nautical decorations or anything like that, just calendars and clocks to keep track of the time. People drop by to drop off documents or just to have a quick word about a shipment. It’s a straightforward business environment. We just show up, do our part in the shipping chain, and go home to our families at the end of the day. Sometimes the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound but we just ignore it.
