Indian Hardware

Our shop, Indian Hardware, is located inside Lehri House on Mohammad Ali Road. If you know where Sagar Metal Store is, we are just a very short walk from that spot. This part of the city is always crowded and the air usually smells like old metal and the exhaust from all the cars. We have been in this exact spot for many years now, surrounded by other shops that sell similar kinds of things. It is a narrow place, packed from the floor all the way to the ceiling with hinges, locks, and various metal fittings for doors and cabinets. You really have to watch your step when you walk in because there are often heavy crates sitting right in the walkway. The lighting inside isn't the best in the world, but we have a couple of bright bulbs hanging over the main counter where we talk to our customers. Most of the people who buy from us are locals who have been coming here for a long time. We don't use any fancy computers to track every little item; we just remember which shelf we put the boxes on. Mohammad Ali Road is always noisy, so there is a lot of shouting and horns outside our door, but inside we just focus on the hardware business. It is a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We take our time to find the right bolt. It is just a simple shop where we do our business every single day.
