Het Agrochem Industries

Out here at Plot No. 298 in Chitra GIDC, life moves at its own pace. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city, but that suits us just fine. We handle agrochemicals, so the warehouse is usually filled with bags and containers ready for the farmers. The smell of the earth and the products is something you just grow to love. The building itself is sturdy, with a high ceiling and a concrete floor that’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and talking to the distributors who pull their vans up to the entrance. It’s a lot of lifting and moving, so everyone stays pretty fit. There’s a small room we use for our breaks, with an old table and a few stools. We talk about the weather a lot because it affects the business so much. If the rains are late, things get quiet. If the season is good, we’re working late into the evening. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a high-tech office. It’s just a bunch of guys working with products they understand. The Chitra area is full of businesses like ours, so there’s a sense of community among the neighbors. We help each other out if a forklift breaks down or if someone needs an extra hand loading a heavy truck for a customer.
