Gayatri Stones

Gayatri Stones operates out of Vitthalwadi in the G.I.D.C. area, right along Rajkot Road. If you know this part of town, you know it’s mostly industrial sheds and heavy trucks. Our yard is filled with various types of stones and slabs that we’ve brought in. It’s a dusty place, honestly, but that’s the nature of working with stone. We spend most of our time outside or in the open shed, checking the quality of the blocks and helping customers pick out what they need for their projects. The sun can be quite harsh out here on Rajkot Road, so we usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot. There’s a small office near the entrance where we keep the bills and a couple of chairs for when people need to sit down and talk. It’s not a quiet place because of the machinery and the cutting sounds from nearby units in the G.I.D.C. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the area grow quite a bit. Most of the guys working here are from around the local villages and have been with us for years. We don't do much marketing or anything like that. People mostly find us by driving past or through word of mouth. We just focus on keeping the yard stocked and making sure the cuts are decent. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
