Out here on Bhavnagar Road, things get pretty dusty because of all the traffic passing by Plot No. 555. Our workshop is right there in the middle of it. We spend our days under car hoods or looking at engines that aren't behaving. There’s always a smell of grease and old oil hanging around the shop floor. It’s a big open space so we can fit a few vehicles in at once. Sometimes the sun hits the metal roof and it gets really hot inside, especially during the summer months in Bhavnagar. We have our tools spread out on the benches, and we usually know exactly where everything is even if it looks cluttered to someone else. People pull in from the road when their cars make funny noises or just need a check-up. We don't have a fancy reception area; it's mostly just us working with our hands and trying to get cars back on the road. Usually, there’s a radio playing somewhere in the back to keep us going while we work. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood coming back over the years. It’s hard work on the back and knees, but it’s what we know how to do. The road stays busy until late evening, so there is always noise from trucks and buses passing by our front gate. We just keep our heads down and fix what needs fixing.
