A. B. Enterprise is situated right in the middle of the Alang Ship Yard in Bhavnagar. If you have ever seen pictures of Alang, you know it is a massive place full of old ships being broken down for parts. We are right there in the thick of it. Our daily life involves a lot of iron, steel, and the salty air from the ocean. It is a very rugged environment. We don't have an office with air conditioning or nice furniture. We mostly spend our time outside or in a small tin shed where we keep our records. Dealing with ship scrap is heavy work and it can be dangerous if you aren't careful. We have a small crew of men who have been with us for a long time. We trust each other because we have to. There is no corporate ladder here, just the work that is right in front of us. We get up early when the tide is right and work until the sun goes down. Bhavnagar is a place with a lot of history in shipping, and we are just one small part of that story. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks to get business. People know where we are and what we do. It is a gritty, loud, and honest way to make a living in the shipyard.
