Umiya Hardware & Sanitary

Umiya Hardware & Sanitary is located on the Ankur Ranna Park Road in Kosamba. We have a lot of different things on the walls, from small screws to big bathroom fixtures. It’s the kind of shop where you have to look closely to find exactly what you need. I know where most of the small parts are hidden, even the ones we don't sell very often. Kosamba is a quiet enough place but we stay busy with locals fixing their plumbing or putting up shelves. The shop smells a bit like metal and plastic. I usually spend my time helping people figure out which pipe fitting they actually need for their leak. Sometimes they bring in the broken part and we try to match it up. It is not a high-tech operation at all. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling and we use a ladder a lot. Sometimes the floor gets a bit cluttered when new stock arrives. I’ve been running this place with just a couple of helpers. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here on the road. It’s a steady way to spend the day and I like being useful to the neighbors.
