The Matar Dudh Uttpadak Sahakari Mandli Ltd

We are located in Matar, which is in the Amud taluka. This is the local milk cooperative, or what everyone here just calls the Mandli. It has been a part of this village for a very long time. Our work is very simple and tied to the daily life of the farmers here. Every morning, very early, the farmers bring their milk to us. We have to measure it and check the quality before it gets put into the big containers. Then we do it all over again in the evening. It is a rhythm that has stayed the same for years. The Mandli is owned by the people who provide the milk, so it is a real community effort. We don't have any fancy office equipment or marketing experts. We just have the scales, the testing kits, and our ledgers. We keep track of everything by hand mostly. The building is a plain concrete structure that stays cool in the heat. During the monsoon, the yard gets very muddy and it can be hard for the carts to get in, but the work never stops because the cows don't stop giving milk. We aren't looking to expand into some big corporation. We just want to make sure the farmers in Matar get a fair deal for their hard work. It is a quiet life and we are happy to be a part of this village. That is just how we do things here.
