We set up our office at 141 in the Ram Nagar Society, which is right in the Gidc area of Ankleshwar. It’s a bit of an interesting spot because you have the industrial side nearby but our society feels a bit more like a neighborhood. We are quite close to Borbhatha, so if you are from around here, you know the way. The office is basically where we spend all our time thinking about buildings and drawing out how things should look. We have a lot of papers and rolls of blueprints lying around on the tables. It gets a bit messy sometimes when we are in the middle of a big project. People from the society often drop by just to say hello or ask a quick question about a wall they want to move. We don’t mind. It’s better to work in a place where people actually know your name. The sunlight comes in pretty well in the mornings, which helps when we are trying to see the fine lines on the plans. We’ve been here for a good bit now and have seen the neighborhood grow quite a lot. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls or anything. It’s just a ground-floor space where we can work in peace. Most of the time, we are out at sites anyway, checking if the pillars are straight or if the brickwork is okay. The walk from Ram Nagar over to Borbhatha is something we do a couple of times a week.
