Star Dreams Exim Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Plot No. 145 in Phase-2 of the GIDC. Even though the name sounds a bit grand, we are really just a small team working in a warehouse setting. Most of our work involves import and export, which means we spend a lot of time dealing with shipping containers and stacks of boxes. The yard outside can get pretty cramped when a big truck is trying to back in, and sometimes we have to move things around just to let the neighbors through. We handle a lot of different goods, so the inventory is always changing. One week it might be textiles, and the next it could be industrial parts. We don't have a lot of fancy office furniture. Most of our desks are just old tables piled high with folders and customs forms. It gets pretty warm in the warehouse during the middle of the day, so we keep the big doors open to catch a breeze. We have had our share of late nights when a shipment is delayed at the docks and we have to wait around to get it unloaded. It is a lot of coordination and making sure the numbers on the boxes match the numbers on our sheets. We have been in this part of Phase-2 for a while and we have a good routine down now. It is just steady, honest work without any of that corporate fluff you see elsewhere.
