Mahalaxmi Kirana Store

Our shop, Mahalaxmi Kirana Store, is at Shop No.8 in the Saffron Tower. This is right at Zanda Chowk in Tarsadi, Kosamba. It is a very busy spot because of the Mota Mandir Road being right there. We are also quite close to the Gujarati Medium School and the Shree Ram General Store. In the mornings and afternoons, the street is full of students and parents, so it gets very lively. I have to keep a close eye on the smaller items near the front because of all the foot traffic. The shop inside Saffron Tower is a decent size, but we have filled every corner with sacks of grain and boxes of snacks. Sometimes I have to move three things just to get to one item a customer wants. My back aches a bit from the constant reaching, but you get used to it. The noise from Zanda Chowk is constant, with horns and people talking, but I find it comforting in a way. It means the town is moving. We do not do anything special for advertising. We just keep the doors open and make sure we have fresh stock coming in from the wholesalers. People come here because they know we have been around and we are right on their way to the temple or the school. It is just a regular part of life in Kosamba, and we are happy to be here.
