Upl Ltd. Unit No 5

This place is huge compared to the small shops nearby. Being at Plot No 746 750 in the Gidc Mega Estate means there is always a lot of movement. We have Unit No 5 here, and it’s mostly about keeping the lines running. You walk in and you hear the hum of the pumps and the forklifts moving pallets around. The guys wear their uniforms and we have to follow all the safety rules because of what we handle. It gets loud inside. The office part is separate, but we spend most of our time out on the floor anyway. Trucks are always backed up to the loading docks. Sometimes they arrive late and we have to stay an extra hour to get everything cleared out. The tea stall right outside the main gate is where everyone goes during the break. It’s a big operation, so things can get a bit confusing if you aren't used to the system. We use a lot of water and electricity to keep the manufacturing going. It’s not a quiet job. The sun beats down on the metal roofs of the Mega Estate, so it stays pretty warm in the afternoons. We’ve been at this location for years, and even though the company has other units, this one has its own way of doing things. Everyone knows their spot. It’s just work, day in and day out, making sure the drums are filled and labeled properly.
