You can find India Pistons Ltd. over at Plot No. 25 in the Gidc Mega Estate. Being in the Mega Estate means there is always a lot of traffic and big rigs moving around outside our gates. Inside, it’s a whole different world of precision and steady work. We spend our hours focused on the production lines, making sure every piston that comes off the belt is solid and ready for use. It’s a repetitive job, but it requires a lot of attention so nobody gets sloppy with the measurements. The building is quite large, and we’ve got different sections for different stages of the process. It gets pretty loud when all the machines are running at once, so we mostly communicate with hand signals or quick shouts across the floor. We’ve had some of the same guys working here since the day we moved into Plot No. 25. There’s a lot of collective knowledge on the floor about how to keep the old machines running alongside the newer ones. We don't bother with much decoration; the walls are mostly covered in safety posters and production charts. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting on the benches outside if the weather is decent. It’s just a group of people who understand how engines work and what it takes to make the parts. We don't make a big fuss about what we do. We just show up at the Mega Estate, do our shift, and head home.
