Over at Plot No. 824/b in the GIDC Mega Estate, you’ll find us at Brakes India Pvt. Ltd. Even though the name sounds a bit official, the actual day-to-day on the floor is much like any other workshop in the estate. We deal with exactly what you’d expect—parts and components that keep things stopping when they need to. The Mega Estate is a massive place, and it can be a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around, but we’ve made our home in this particular corner. Our building is large enough to house the heavy machinery we need, and it gets pretty loud when everything is in full swing. We have a crew that’s been together for quite some time, and they know the routine inside out. There’s a lot of heat and metal around, so it’s not the most comfortable place to spend a summer afternoon, but we get it done regardless. We don't spend much on decoration or making the place look pretty for visitors. We focus on the metal and the specs instead. Every morning we check the schedule, fire up the equipment, and start the shift. It’s a rhythmic kind of life, governed by the sound of the machines and the ticking of the clock. We’re just another unit in the GIDC, working hard to stay on top of the pile and keep moving forward.
