You can find Jhagadia Copper Limited at Room 306 in the Gokul Housing Society-2. We are in Ankleshwar, right near the Ragini Cinema in the Bhadkodra village area. Being in Ankleshwar means we are right in the middle of all the industrial action. There is always a smell of manufacturing in the air, and the sound of machines is never too far off. Our room is on the third floor, so we have to carry some of the smaller samples up the stairs. It’s a bit of a workout. The society is usually quite busy with people coming and going. We have a small desk where we keep all the records for the copper trades. The walls are a bit bare, maybe a calendar or two hanging up. We focus on the metal, not the decor. Copper is what we know best. We spend hours looking at invoices and talking to the people down at the yard. It’s a lot of coordination to make sure the copper gets to the right factories. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit by the window to see what we are writing. It gets hot in that small room, especially in May. We just drink our cold water and keep at it. It’s a simple business life here in the heart of the Bharuch district. We get the work done and go home to our families when the sun sets.
