Hindalco Ind. (Birla Copper Unit)

We’ve been based out of Hindalco Ind. (Birla Copper Unit) for a while now, specifically over at E27/1 in the Birla Copper Township. If you know the Dahej area, you know how things work around here. It’s a busy industrial zone out in Bharuch district. Living and working in the township is quite a different experience from being in the middle of a big city. You get used to the pace. Some days are just about managing the routine tasks at the unit. There’s a lot of metal and noise, but it’s home for most of us. The address E27/1 isn't hard to find once you get inside the main township gates. It’s basically where we spend most of our daylight hours. The weather in Bharuch can be pretty tough, especially in the summer months when the sun hits the industrial sheds. We just keep things moving, focusing on the work at hand without much fuss. People here know each other since it’s a tight community in the township. We see the same faces at the local tea spots and during shift changes. It isn't a flashy life, just a practical one. We deal with the logistics of being in Dahej, which means handling the trucks and the shipments coming through. It's a lot of coordination and making sure the day goes by without too many hiccups. That’s pretty much how it is for us here at the Birla Copper Unit.
