Usha Packaging

Usha Packaging is located down at Plot No. 2512-2533. It’s a pretty big space, which is good because packaging takes up a lot of room. We have stacks of cardboard and rolls of film everywhere you look. It’s easy to get lost in the rows if you aren't careful. We started out small but ended up taking over more of the plot as the work grew. Most days are just spent loading and unloading trucks. The sound of tape dispensers is something you hear in your sleep after a long shift. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just make sure things are wrapped up tight so they don't break. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting boxes and moving pallets around. Our crew is local, mostly people from the nearby area who don’t mind getting their hands a bit dirty. The floor is usually covered in scraps, but we sweep up at the end of the day. It’s a simple routine. We show up, see what needs to be packed, and get to it. Some of the machines are older and need a bit of a kick to get going, but they work fine once they're warm. We’ve been at this plot for a long time and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. We just keep doing our thing and staying busy.
