Down at Plot No. 409/b-2 in the G.I.D.C. Estate in Panoli, things are pretty industrial. We’ve got a good-sized plot here where we handle our life science work. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but the estate is where all the action is for companies like ours. The air always has that faint smell of chemicals and machinery, which is just part of the job. Our building is a simple structure that focuses more on what’s inside than how it looks from the road. We spend most of our hours in the lab areas or checking on the production lines. It gets quite hot in the summer months, so we have fans going all over the place. There’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving stuff around on pallets. We eat our lunch together in a small break area, usually talking about the cricket or what’s happening in the local area. It’s not a glamorous setup, but it’s a solid place to work. We’ve got a few trees planted near the gate to give a little shade, though they don't do much against the Panoli heat. Most people who come by are truck drivers or suppliers bringing in raw materials. We just stick to our schedule and try to get the batches out on time. It’s hard work, but it is what we know.
