Art Palace (Hindustan Handicrafts)

Art Palace is located in the Shantiniketan Society on Gujarat College Road. We are at number six, right in the Ellisbridge area. It’s a place where we keep a lot of different handicrafts and items we’ve gathered over time. The shop has a lot of shelves, and they are usually pretty full. We spend a good chunk of our day just dusting things and moving items around so people can see them better. It is not a huge space, so it can feel a bit crowded when we get a few people in at once. We have all sorts of things, from small wooden pieces to bigger decorative items. People usually find us when they are walking around the college road area. Some people come in just to look around and don't buy anything, which is fine. We like having the items around us. The building is part of a quiet society, so it’s not as loud as the main road can be. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when it’s slow and watch the traffic go by. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays. We just put the stuff out where there is room. It takes a lot of effort to keep track of everything we have in stock. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know where to find us if they need a gift or something for their home.
