You can find us in Kumher, right next to the PNB at number 20. Bharatpur is where we are from, and we wanted to do something for the people here. Our office is a simple room. It’s not very modern, but it has everything we need to run the Nidhi company. We handle the savings of people from the nearby villages and the town. Most of us who work here have been friends for a long time. We don't have any formal mission statements hanging on the wall. We just have a calendar and some photos of our families. The work is mostly about keeping track of the small amounts of money people bring in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use flashlights to see the ledgers. It’s just part of living here. We are not a giant bank with branches everywhere. We just have this one spot near the bank. People trust us because they see us at the market or the temple. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just sit at our desks and wait for people to come in. It’s a quiet way to earn a living, and it feels right for a place like Kumher. We usually lock up and go home once the sun goes down and the market gets quiet.
