We are located at Tonk Fatak, which is always a busy area with plenty of traffic and people moving about. This place has been our base for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent dealing with papers, talking to drivers, and checking on where things are supposed to go. It is a small office, mostly just a couple of desks and some old chairs for when people come in to discuss their transport needs. You can hear the vehicles honking outside all day long, especially when the crossing is closed. We do not have any big signs or flashy lights out front. It is just a practical spot where we get the work done. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break, but otherwise, someone is always looking at a schedule or a map. The office gets a bit dusty because of all the road work and the trucks passing by constantly. We know the local guys around the fatak and often help each other out with directions or news about the roads. It is not the kind of job where you sit in a quiet room with air conditioning all day. There is a lot of back and forth, phone calls that drop out, and trying to figure out the best routes through the city. We keep things simple and just focus on getting the tasks finished before the sun goes down and the traffic gets even worse at the crossing.
