Swastik Spices

If you've ever spent time on Chowk Bazar Road, you know how busy the Main Market gets around midday. We are right in the thick of it at Swastik Spices. The shop isn't fancy or anything. Most days start with us rolling up the shutters and moving some of the heavier sacks of chili and coriander toward the front so people can see what we have. It gets quite dusty here with all the traffic, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do before the first customers arrive. We mostly deal with locals who have been coming to this part of Bhagal for years. Sometimes the tea seller from across the road stops by to talk while we're sorting through the latest shipment. It’s a lot of manual work, weighing things out on the old scales and making sure the labels are clear. The building itself has seen better days, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise when it’s on high, but it keeps us cool enough. We spend a lot of time just talking to the folks who walk in, hearing about their families while we bag up their orders. There’s always someone asking for a specific grind or a different mix, and we do what we can with the machines we have in the back. It’s just a regular local business where we know most people by their first names. We don't have a big team, just a few of us here every day.
