Operating out of Naugachia right on NH-31, things get pretty loud with all the heavy trucks hauling loads across the country. We are situated near A P Jha Nursing Home, so it’s a bit of a landmark for people trying to find Gauri Shankar Steel for the first time. Our day involves a lot of heavy lifting and moving steel rods and sheets around the yard. It’s the kind of work that keeps you on your feet all day long. The sun hits the metal and makes the whole place feel like an oven during the summer months. We don't have a big staff, just enough of us to handle the orders and keep things somewhat tidy, though steel yards are never really that clean. We see a lot of different people, from small contractors to guys just looking for a bit of metal for a repair at home. Dealing with the NH-31 traffic is just part of the routine. Sometimes a truck gets delayed and we’re left waiting around, but usually, it’s a steady stream of work. We don't do much in the way of talking ourselves up, we just show people what we have in the yard and they take what they need. It’s a practical business and we like it that way.
