District Hospital Purnia

The hospital here in Purnia is a bit of a landmark, even if the address says Bhagalpur. It is one of those places that never really sleeps. Even at three in the morning, you can hear someone moving around or a baby crying somewhere in the distance. The building is quite spread out and it takes a while to walk from one end to the other. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a fountain or anything like that. Instead, we have a lot of dusty corridors and heavy wooden doors that don't always close right. The weather here can be really tough, and the hospital gets quite stuffy when the humidity is high. We use a lot of pedestal fans to keep the air moving, but they mostly just move the heat around. People come in from all over the area, and they usually bring their whole families with them. It makes the place feel very crowded, especially on the days when the doctors are extra busy. We don’t really do promotional stuff or talk about how great we are. We just show up, do the shifts, and go home. The floors are cleaned every morning but by noon they are covered in footprints again. That is just how a busy district hospital works. We are just a local team doing the best we can with what is available to us.
