Chay Bagan

Our business, Chay Bagan, is tucked away in Tinkathia Gali. That's in the Sujaganj area of Bhagalpur, not far from Kachahari Chowk. It’s a busy part of town with lots of narrow lanes and people moving about. We have a small storefront and a back room where we keep the tea. It can get a bit loud outside with all the traffic near the chowk, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been in this spot for several years, and we have a regular group of people who stop by. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just sell tea leaves. The shop is a bit cluttered because we have so many different types of tea crammed into a small space. We spend a lot of time scooping tea into bags and chatting with the people who come in. We don't have a big corporate strategy. We just try to have what people are looking for and keep the prices fair. Sometimes the delivery trucks struggle to get down Tinkathia Gali because it's so narrow. We often have to carry the bags ourselves from the main road. It’s hard work, but it’s just part of the job. We don't spend money on advertising; word of mouth in Bhagalpur has always been enough for us. It’s a simple life and a simple business.
