Bikasmitra Foundation

Bikasmitra Foundation is right on Amarpur Road in Ward No 8, over in Banka. Vikash Kumar Yadav is the one who handles most of the day-to-day stuff here. Banka is a nice place, but like anywhere else, people have their struggles. We set up this foundation to be a hand for those who need it. Our office is just a regular building along the road, nothing that stands out too much. You’ll usually find a few people waiting outside to talk about their problems. We don’t have a big staff, so things can take a bit of time, but we try to be thorough. We handle a lot of different things, whatever the community brings to us that day. It might be about schools, or it might be about helping a family get their rights. We don't use any big words or complicated plans. We just take things as they come. It’s practical work. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty from the road traffic, but we don't mind. We grew up around here, so we know the families and the history of the ward. It feels good to be useful in your own hometown. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little corner of Bihar. It’s a straightforward life, and we like keeping it that way, just neighbors helping neighbors without any fuss and bother.
