Meena Nuring Home

Out here in Shimoga, things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities, but T.K. Road still stays quite busy throughout the day. The nursing home has been here a while, and the building shows its age in a few places, like the way the windows rattle when a big truck goes by. We have a small crew here, and most of us have been working together for many years. It is more of a community than just a workplace to us. We see people from all over the district who come in when they are not feeling well or need some basic medical care. The rooms are simple, with beds and the usual medical stands, and we try to keep things tidy even if we are short-staffed some days. There is always a lot of laundry to do and a lot of floor scrubbing, which is just part of the daily routine. We do not have a PR person or anyone to write fancy letters for us. We just talk to the patients and their families in plain language so everyone knows what is going on. It can be a bit noisy in the mornings when the shifts change and everyone is talking at once, but it settles down eventually. We do not have any big slogans. We just show up, take care of the people who come in, and hope everyone gets some rest.
