Ajit Flower Shop

Being right near the State Bank of India in Chiranjeev Vihar means we see a lot of people every day. Ajit Flower Shop isn't a huge place, but we pack it with whatever flowers are in season. The mornings are the busiest because that is when the fresh loads come in. Everything smells like wet stems and petals for a few hours while we trim the leaves and put things in water buckets. Sometimes the floor gets a bit slippery from the water, so we have to watch out. It’s a small space, so things get cramped when customers are waiting for their bouquets. We use a lot of string and plastic wrap. It’s not a fancy boutique or anything like that. We just sit on our stools and put together what people ask for. Some days are slow, especially when it rains, and we just sit and watch the traffic near the bank. We’ve been at this location for some time now and most people around here know where to find us. Dealing with flowers is nice, but it's a lot of cleaning up fallen leaves and thorns. We keep the shop open pretty late most nights. It's just a regular local business doing what we know how to do. We don't use big machines, just our hands and some scissors to get things ready. The buckets need filling and the shelves need wiping down every single day we are open.
