Hotel Annapoorna Residency

We started this place out here in Korigan because there weren't many options for people passing through Bhadrak. It is not a fancy building with big glass walls, just a solid place to sleep and eat some decent food. My family helps out with most of the work here. We spend a lot of time just keeping the rooms clean and making sure the water is running right. Sometimes the electricity goes out because we are a bit far from the main town, but we try to manage with what we have. People come here when they have work in the Dhamnagar area. It is pretty quiet at night, which is nice if you are tired from traveling on the dusty roads. We do not have a big menu, but the kitchen stays busy most of the day cooking simple meals for whoever is staying. The address is right in Korigan via Dhamnagar, so it is easy to find if you know the district. We usually just sit outside in the evenings when it is not too hot. The trees around the building give some shade during the afternoon. I usually spend an hour or two checking the linens or making sure the kitchen has enough gas for the evening meal. It is a lot of work running a hotel in Orissa, but we have been doing it for a while now. We know most of the people around here. There is always something to fix, whether it is a light bulb or a leaky tap. It is a quiet life mostly.
