Dalai Trading Company

Our company is located in the village of Markona, right near the post office and the bus stand. Being so close to the bus stand in Tehsil Simulia means we are always right in the middle of the activity. We deal with various trading goods, mostly things that local people and small businesses around here need. It is a dusty spot sometimes because of all the buses coming and going, but it is a great place to be if you want to stay connected to what is happening in Baleshwar. We started this trading business a long time ago. It is not a fancy operation with computers everywhere; we still use a lot of ledgers and hand-written notes to keep track of our stock. We know most of our customers by name since they live right here in the village or in the nearby areas. It is a simple way of doing business, based on trust and just being around when people need something. Our warehouse is right behind the main office area, and it is usually packed with whatever we are moving that week. We do not have a marketing department or anything like that. People know we are here because they see us every day near the bus stand. We just keep our heads down and focus on moving the goods. It is hard work, but it is honest and keeps us busy.
