Prashanth Rice

We are located over at 5/41- on K S P Road in the Gattaigudem part of Palwancha. It’s mostly rice that we handle here, hence the name. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it stays dry inside which is what matters for the grain. We get big sacks delivered every week and it’s a lot of heavy lifting. My brother and I do most of the work ourselves. We don't have fancy machinery, just a good scale and some sturdy scoops. People from all over Palwancha come by because they know where we are. It’s a dusty job and our clothes are usually covered in white powder by the end of the shift. We don't bother with a lot of talk or marketing stuff. We just show you what we have and weigh it out. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is completely silent for hours. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the books. The road outside can get muddy when it rains, making it hard for the trucks, but we manage to get things done. It’s just a plain business doing one thing every day. We aren't trying to change the world, just selling rice to the folks who need it for dinner.
