Balaji Boiled Rice Mill

Our mill is located out in Sudimilla Village, right near the Power Office at Unit No.12. If you’re driving through Yellandu, you’ve probably seen the Balaji Boiled Rice Mill sign. We specialize in boiled rice, which is a specific process that takes a lot of water and steam. The yard is usually full of paddy drying out in the sun before it goes into the boilers. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting heavy sacks and keeping an eye on the temperature. The weather plays a big part in how our day goes. If it rains, we have to hurry to cover everything up. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the neighbors know us well. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the husking machines are running at full speed. We supply to local markets and some bigger traders who come by with their lorries. The office is just a small room near the entrance where we keep the books. We don't have a big website or anything like that. Most of our business comes from long-standing relationships with farmers in the area. It’s honest work, even if it leaves you tired at the end of the shift. The village is quiet, but our mill keeps things moving. We just focus on processing the grain properly so it’s ready for the kitchen. There is always a lot to do, especially during the harvest months when things get really hectic.
