Shree Balaji Bricks Udyog

Down here in Tehsil Bhadra, which is part of Hanumangarh District, we run a brick kiln. It's out in the open, so we are at the mercy of the weather most of the time. If it’s sunny, we make bricks. If it’s raining, we just wait. The soil here is actually pretty good for making sturdy bricks. We have a lot of workers who have been with us for years. They know the process of mixing and molding by heart. It’s a dusty place to work, but that’s the nature of the industry we are in. We have big stacks of finished bricks waiting for transport. Tractors and trucks come in through the main gate all day long. We don't have a fancy office building, just a small room near the entrance where we keep the records. It’s quite peaceful in the early mornings before the machines start up and the dust begins to fly. We see a lot of people from around the district who are building new homes or walls. We just give them a price and see how many they need. There isn't any polished sales talk here. We just show them the stock and they decide. The Hanumangarh heat can be tough, but we manage. We’ve been doing this for a long time and the routine doesn't change much. It’s honest work and we’re glad to be a part of the community in Bhadra. Sometimes we sit and have lunch together under the shed. It's a simple life for us.
