Zia Collections

If you walk down the Main Road in Maryadpatti, you’ll find us right there. Zia Collections is a small place, but we keep it packed with all sorts of things. Being on the Main Road means there’s always noise from the traffic and people shouting outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We open up early to beat the heat, though it usually stays warm inside anyway. We sell clothes and accessories mostly. It’s the kind of shop where things are stacked a bit high, and you might have to ask us to reach something down from the top shelf. We don't have those fancy automatic doors or anything, just a regular entrance where the dust blows in from the street. My cousin helps out on the weekends when it gets crowded. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the regular customers who live nearby. They don't always buy something, sometimes they just stop in to say hello. We try to keep new things coming in so the window display doesn't look the same for too long, even if it’s just changing a scarf or a dress. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but it’s good work. Maryadpatti is a lively place to be, and being right on the road means we never feel lonely. We just keep the fan going and wait for the next person to walk in.
