Selvan Welfare Foundation

We are over at House No. 107 in the Heera Lal Vermadost Pura area of Kopaganj. Our foundation is a pretty simple setup. We started this because we felt like there were people in our neighborhood being left behind by the changes happening around us. It is not a large operation. Usually, it is just two or three of us sitting in the front room trying to figure out how to help a neighbor with a medical bill or a school fee for their kids. We have lived in Kopaganj all our lives, so we know most of the families around here quite well. When someone has a problem, they usually know which door to knock on. We don’t use a lot of big words or have complicated rules about who we help. If someone needs something and we have the means to do something about it, we do it. Sometimes we don't have the answer right away, and we have to go ask someone else or look things up at the library. The walls of our office are a bit bare, and the furniture is old, but it serves its purpose. We spend a lot of time out in the community rather than sitting behind desks anyway. It is more about the people than the paperwork for us. We just want to see our neighbors doing okay and the street looking nice.
