This place is right in the heart of Carpet City, on Chauri Road in Bhadohi. We are spread across several plots in Sector-B and Sector-C. It’s a big operation because we handle both spinning and dyeing for the cluster here. If you’ve ever been to Bhadohi, you know it’s all about carpets. Our job is to provide the services that the carpet makers need. The air here usually smells like wool and various dyes. It’s a very industrial environment. We have large vats for coloring the yarn and big machines that spin the fibers. It can get very messy and wet in the dyeing area, so everyone wears heavy boots. We don't have a polished front office. Our office is just a place to keep the ledgers and handle the paperwork. Most of the real action happens on the floor where the machines are. It is noisy and hot, especially near the drying sections. We work with a lot of different people in the carpet industry. It’s a community effort in a way. We try to keep the colors consistent, which is harder than it sounds when you are dealing with such large quantities of wool. We just focus on our part of the process and try to keep things moving so the weavers don't have to wait. It is a lot of hard work but that is what keeps this town running and we are glad to be part of it.
