Jyoti Kendra

We have been working out of Jyoti Kendra for a long time now. Our shop is located near to Sitamari in the Kalin Nagri area of Bhadohi. Most people in Gyanpur know this neighborhood because of the carpets, and we are right in the middle of it all. It is a simple place with old walls and a heavy desk where we keep our registers. Every morning we open the shutters and sweep the front because the dust from the road never seems to settle. It gets quite noisy during the day with all the rickshaws and motorbikes passing by, but we are used to it. We aren't trying to be some big corporate office. We just do our work and talk to the people who walk in. Some of them have been coming to us for years and they know where to sit while we finish up their orders. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit in the afternoons, so we just sit outside on the stools and wait for it to come back. It’s a quiet life in many ways, even with the traffic noise. We keep things pretty organized, though the shelves are packed tight with supplies. If you are looking for us, just ask anyone near Sitamari and they will point you the right way. We don't have a big neon sign, just a small one that's a bit faded from the sun.
