Our place, Himalayan Garments Industries Pvt. Ltd., is set up within the Gfd Campus over in Maryyad Patti. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here for some, but it’s where we do all our garment work. The campus is a mix of different activities, but we stay focused on our own section. It’s a lot of fabric and thread everywhere you look. We have rows of sewing machines and people working them all day long. The sound of the needles is pretty much the only thing you hear once you step inside. Maryyad Patti is a quiet enough area compared to the city center, which we appreciate. The building itself is just a functional space, nothing too modern or fancy about it. We have heaps of cloth stacked up in the corners and finished pieces ready to go out. The workers here are mostly local people who have been with us for a good while. We don't really go for big advertisements or anything like that. We just focus on the orders that come in and try to stay on top of the schedule. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the campus, but we manage to make it work. It’s just a place where people come to work and earn a living. We keep our heads down and stay busy with the garments. That’s pretty much the whole story of what happens here at Gfd Campus. It is a steady way to spend the day.
