Bhadohi Woolen Association

Our building is just a regular house that we use for our office. The address is 221401 for the pin code. Being here in Sant Ravi Das Nagar, we are surrounded by the trade. You can often hear the sounds of looms or see trucks loaded with bundles of wool passing by the main road. Our office inside the house is pretty simple. We have some wooden chairs and a big desk where we keep all the records. The floor is concrete and it stays cool in the summer. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, one of us just opens the door when someone knocks. There’s a lot of history in these streets and we feel part of that. We spend our days talking to local folks and keeping track of things. The yard outside has a bit of grass and a big tree that gives us some shade. It’s a practical place to work. We don't need much else. The house number 1 is easy to find once you are in Sarroi. We’ve been here for years and the neighbors are all like family. It’s just how things are in this part of Uttar Pradesh.
