Aamir & Co.

Aamir & Co. is located right in the Main Market area of Bhaderwah. We’ve been here in the Doda district for quite some time now. Being in the market means it’s always busy around the shop. There are people coming and going all day long. We handle a variety of things depending on what people are looking for. It’s a small space, and we’ve got shelves packed with all sorts of items. Sometimes it’s hard to find exactly what you need right away, but we eventually dig it out. We don't have a computer system or anything fancy to track stuff. We just remember where we put things. It’s a lot of talking to customers and listening to the local news while we work. The winters here can get pretty cold, so we spend a lot of time huddled near the heater inside. In the summer, the doors stay wide open to catch the breeze from the street. We aren't a big chain store, just a local business trying to get by. My brother usually handles the morning shift and I take over in the afternoon. We see the same faces every week, which is nice. It feels like we are really part of the town. We don't do much marketing; we just rely on people knowing we are here in the middle of the market. It's a crowded little shop but it works.
