Our office is number 20 inside the Vinayak Complex. If you know Bhachau, you know this area gets pretty busy with all the trucks and people moving goods around. Kutch is a big place and we’ve been working out of this spot for a good while. It’s just a regular office, nothing special to look at, with some desks and a lot of paperwork everywhere. Trading is one of those jobs where you’re always on the phone or checking lists. We deal with all sorts of things depending on the season. The complex itself has a lot of other businesses too, so there is always someone to grab a tea with in the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. That’s just how it is here. We aren’t a huge corporation with fancy uniforms. It’s just a few of us making sure things get from one place to another. Most of our clients have been with us for years. They know where to find us and they know we’ll get back to them when we can. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, so be careful if you’re visiting. We usually keep the door open to let some air in. It’s a honest living and we stay busy enough to keep going. Bhachau is a tough place sometimes but the people are good.
